Hi! So glad you came by today to visit!
A Summer For Love… I think of picnics, strawberries, a sweet chilled wine, and the man I love spread out on a blanket with my head nestled comfortably in the crook of his shoulder. Heaven. The sun is bright, but not blinding and a soft breeze stirs the air, cooling the summer warmth just enough to make it very comfortable. That’s what I want 🙂
Here’s a hot summer excerpt from my book LIZZY. Enjoy!
***
“Can we eat outside? The sunset is just gorgeous.”
“Sure. Let me get us some tea and I’ll meet you out there.”
“I can help. I really do feel fine.”
“Let me pamper you some.” He shooed her out the door and she wandered over to an uncovered portion of the patio with two chairs and a small square table between them. The wooden chair was surprisingly comfortable. She leaned her head back and soaked in the multi-colored kaleidoscope of reds, oranges, and yellows. So beautiful. She closed her eyes and listened to the waves on the lake.
“Are you sleeping again?” He chuckled as he put down a tray of food and two glasses of iced tea.
“No!” She turned abruptly to face him, catching the tail end of a wide grin. Tease. “I love this place. I don’t know how you leave it behind and come back to the city again once the weekends are over. I could live out here permanently.”
“I’m glad you like it. I’d hoped you would.”
“How do you have the time to keep it so immaculate?” Her mom was a neat freak, but this place resembled a photo in a magazine.
“Oh, I have help. Greg takes care of the outside and his wife, Terri, makes sure the inside stays in order. She also stocks the fridge for me every Friday.”
“Who are they?”
“They live down the road a couple miles. My grandfather hired them to take care of the property several years before I inherited it.” He sat in the chair next to her and grabbed a cracker from the plate. “They already knew the property, so I kept the same contract with them my grandfather already had.”
She bit into a sweet grape and couldn’t help the little moan of pleasure that slipped from her lips.
“Good?”
Their gazes locked and she nodded. “Thank you. It’s all delicious. I know it’s not what you’d rather be eating.”
His eyes darkened. Or maybe it was the light from the sun fading to blues and purples.
“I would much rather a taste of you,” he said.
Nerves fired throughout her body, sending arousing flutters of anticipations across her skin. The ever-present hum of her libido kicked into high gear and her pussy throbbed. She wanted the same thing. After so many weeks of sneaking around, trying to find a moment to be alone…Now they had a whole two days.

At this point, as long as we leave the house together without the kids, it’s a good date lol. We haven’t done anything alone since our second baby … 4 years ago. Thanks for the opportunity though 🙂 Have a great summer!

Perfect summer date would be eating at a pier restaurant overlooking the ocean. Afterwards going for a romantic stroll along the pier and then walking along the beach (taking shoes off) and running in the surf. Then sitting on the sand and making out. To top off the evening going home together, have a nice glass of wine and then a romantic night in bed.
Perfect summer date would be, dinner at a cozy restaurant by the water, a walk on the beach after, then drinks and dessert at home under the stars cuddled together.
Thanks for the giveaway. 🙂

My perfect summer date would be to go to one of the nearly extinct drive-in-movies with my husband on a cool and calm night. We could park towards the back and ……..
Kathleen Nichols email: nichols.kathy@yahoo.com Thx!
My perfect day would be, sitting in the shade at the beach. With a nice bottle of wine resting in the waves to keep cool, and my kindle to read. I could watch all the hot men . Just because i.m older doesn´t mean I can´t look.
Oh dear I forgot to put my e-mail address on my comment.

You ask: tell me what your perfect summer date would be.
A perfect date would be on an island with beautiful greenery, rivers, waterfalls and a actual tree house in a huge real tree along the river bank. We would sit on the porch, watching the waterfall, sunset and other sights and sounds. The two of us would spend time talking, getting to know each other and enjoying each others company.
This would be a perfect one day date or a weekend getaway.
Thanks for the opportunity to share!

Wow, there are some brilliant summer dates posted on here! For myself, and I’m rather boring these days, my perfect summer date would consist of my husband and I heading to a nice beach (any will do, just so long as there is an ocean and a great beach!). I think a private beach resort would be a bit much but I’m going for it here, unless I lose a billion pounds or so. There would be quite and reading time; lots of reading time, followed by a few drinks by the water and a nice fancy hotel suite where the do not disturb sign would be found whenever the beach wasn’t being occupied!
Thanks for the chance to enter the giveaway and thank you for the excerpt from LIZZY. The book sounds excellent and I’m on my way to amazon right now! Thank you!

My perfect summer date would be a nice dinner preferably at a place by the water with outside seating and then a walk on the beach. A nightcap and dessert at home.

My favorite summer evenings are the ones spent around my fire pit on my farm with food and either family and friends or just friends. Of course, with friends and kids it’s not really a “date”. LOL. So, I guess that can’t really count. But, after kids go to bed and the sun goes down, living out in the country gives you the peace and quiet of any far off secluded place.
Loved the excerpt. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

My perfect summer date?
(This would be from my home town) Dinner at a restaurant overlooking the river, taking a walk on the riverfront afterwards, listening to some of the musicians who are playing, and then a ride on the carousel. Maybe followed up by an ice cream.
email: barbiefan(at)comcast(dot)net
My perfect summer date would start off with having a picnic next to a riverside. Then we would take a canoe ride down the river and take in the beautiful trees and surrounding and just talk for a while. Next we would walk down the nature trails and climb trees like we were kids. After, we would grab ice cream at a small mom and pop shop. Once the sun starts to fade we would go out for a nice Italian dinner while sitting outside on the patio with twinkling lights all around us and classical music playing in the background. The evening would end with him driving me home and only giving me a small kiss on the back of my hand while he expresses his anticipation to seeing me tomorrow! =) Wow! That even made me blush!!!
A perfect summer date would be dinner beachside then a moonlight stroll on the beach after. The only time I enjoy the beach is at night. Yes I’m weird.
Thanks for the fun and the chance!

For me, summer dates must include great food and great wine, and they have to be consumed in a place full of great friends, and a great view! My husband’s entire family vacations in VA Beach each year, and we always have a date night for the grown-up “kids.” We look forward to it every year. We usually pick a local restaurant where the seafood is to die for, right on the water. Then dessert and a bit of the local nightlife followed by drinks on the deck of the beach house when we get home. It is the best date, summer or otherwise, all year!
Thanks for the great excerpt.

Summer date? If it’s especially hot out, there are plenty of little lakes dotting the valley to sneak off to, to cool off. I’m a bit of a waterbug anyway, so there’s also the bay to chill out on the beach, too.
Going to the water slides every weekend 🙂
